Junior Summer Program

Ireland West School of English is an approvedTrinity Exam Centre offering all levels of English from beginners (A1) to advanced. (C2) Our teachers are all qualified and have experience of working overseas.We are located in the heart of rural Ireland...famous for its beautiful scenery. We offer quality English courses and the opportunity to explore the great ourdoors.

We offer an intensive learning programme for teenagers. We have an average 98% pass rate in the Trinity speaking and listening exams.We offer a varied activities programme including surfing, cycling, gaelic games, Irish dancing and trips to places of interest. Take a look at our photos....
We run adult courses for clients who need English for the workplace. We offer communication skills improving grammatical accuracy and vocabulary expansion.We offer the Cambridge BULATS exams.

Set in the majestic countryside of County Mayo, Ireland West School of English is a family run school offering a personalised service and the highest level of care for our students. Our desire is that each students leaves not only improving their working knowledge of English but also with a very positive experience of the West of Ireland.We offer two main study programs:A summer language program aimed at young people 11-17 (now in its 6th year).A business language program aimed at small groups of business poeple.The following provides a short summary of each course. Please click on the relevant menu on the front page to view further details for either program.We have kept the pricing structure very simple so that you know exactly what it will cost and what you can expect. We are pleased to say that time and time again the experiences of our students are far above the expectations and we work very hard to maintain this.The Junior Summer Program has now been running for several years and consists of many different activities: SurfingCanoeingHillwalkingBeach gamesswimmingIrish sports with local instructors (hurling, gaelic football)sports afternoons with a variety of activities: tennis, hockey, basketball to name but a fewInstruction in Irish dancingkaraoke at the friday night discos with multilingual songs.Please see our photo section for some great moments.The Business English Course targets the most common areas requested from our students. It is designed to offer a hands on approach to meet your specific needs for communication in the workplace.The small group size enables the tutor to work with each individual to focus on specific needs which are identified in the initial assessment tests. We also include some sight seeing trips so you can experience the beautiful landscape of Co. Mayo. Again the pricing structure is very simple to make booking as easy as possible and to ensure you know what you are paying for.

All ready for sufing on Achill island. Come join us for fun and excitement on the summer program.
The Summer Program is designed to ensure our students learn in a relaxed environment and are kept busy with a full social program. Accommodation is with host families (that have been personally visited and approved) and the average age range is 11-17 years old. The program is focused on preparation for the Trinity College London Exam held at the end of the course. The courses take place during July and August each year.The programme includes:20 lessons per week Full board homestay accommodation ›All transport to and from school everyday if necessaryAfternoon activities every day from Monday to Friday.Half day excursion each week.One evening disco per week (usually Friday and includes Karaoke)as well as tuition in Irish dancing by a dance teacher.Full day excursion every SaturdayUse of course books and materialsEnd of course report and certificateExam entrance fee if applicable (Trinity London exam is held at the end of each month)Airport pickup/ return.Course Information 2012Course dates July: Monday 2nd July to Friday 27th July August: Monday 30th July to Friday 24th August Arrival days: Saturday or SundayPricing 2 weeks €1200 Pricing is fully inclusive so students require money only for personal spending. 3 weeks €1500 4 weeks €1800

Executive Language Course

Ireland West School of English has a long history of working with a variety of business organisations.We offer this course to professionals who require a direct application of the English language in a business setting often involving a mutli national audience. Clear and precise language is very important as is the preparation of minutes and electronic communications. The program covers all the main business areas and focuses on the following modules:Preparing and making telephone callsPreparation and delivery of effective presentationsPlanning, chairing and recording meetingsHow to negotiate effectivelyHow to manage multicultural audiencesPreparation and language used in emailsReport writingCourse duration: 1 week or 2 week optionHours per week: 25 hours tuition per weekNumber of participants: Maximum 6Fees: €1200 for initial assessment tuition, course materials and BULATS exam (if required)Accommodation: €750 based on B&B accommodation for 14 nightsWe want our students to experience the beautiful landscape of Mayo and so the fees include four afternoon tours of Mayo - 2 each week, to explore the natural and cultural heritiage of our area.
